Green Customs Initiative partners with the Kenya School of Revenue Administration
The Kenya School of Revenue Administration (KESRA) sought to partner with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), as the secretariat of the Green Customs Initiative (GCI), towards strengthening KESRA’s capacity to train Kenyan customs officers on the implementation and enforcement of multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs). KESRA and UNEP held several consultative meetings in the course of 2019, resulting in a joint action plan towards the development and launch of a national green customs curriculum in 2020.
The curriculum development process will engage national experts interested in green customs matters. The draft is expected to be finalized and piloted at the end of 2020.
